WASHINGTON, D.C.— A Senior Immigration and Customs Enforcement official revealed to reporters on Wednesday that over a two-day period, last Tuesday and Wednesday, ICE shattered its own record for single-day arrests twice consecutively. The official revealed to Fox News that 2,368 arrests were made by ICE officers last Wednesday, preceded by 2,267 arrests last Tuesday.
The report comes just days following the record-breaking Memorial Day weekend arrests previously reported by Law Enforcement Today and demonstrates the concerted effort ICE has taken to pursue the Trump Administration’s goal of reaching 3,000 arrests per day.
“Those arrested had executable final orders of removal by an immigration judge and had not complied with that order,” an ICE spokesman told NBC News. When challenged by reporters that lawyers for some of those arrested claimed to not have final orders of removal, the spokesman reaffirmed, “those arrested had executable final orders of removal by an immigration judge and had not complied with that order.”
“We’ve now seen back-to-back days of record high ICE arrests, which I’m told can be attributed to increased enforcement at worksites, immigration court, and scooping up “collaterals”, (people in the US illegally who were found with an ICE target, but were not the target themselves),” Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin reported in a post to X, adding, “ICE sources tell FOX if the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ passes as advertised with funding for 10,000 additional ICE personnel and tens of thousands of new ICE beds, ICE will be ‘supercharged’ and arrests will ‘shoot through the roof’.”
Sharing Melugin’s report, the White House wrote in a post to X, “The Trump Administration has been working nonstop since Inauguration Day to remove public safety threats from American communities. The One Big Beautiful Bill is instrumental in finishing the job, allowing for the hiring of 10,000 ICE personnel.”
