NYPD officer who responded to the Twin Towers on 9/11 needs our help

NEW YORK CITY- On September 11, 2001, 2,977 lives were lost in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93. But the human toll of that day didn’t end there.

Since then, more than 4,600 people—first responders, recovery workers, and survivors—have died from illnesses linked to exposure at Ground Zero. Thousands more continue to fight for their lives.

One of those heroes is NYPD Detective Joseph Daigneault.

Joe dedicated his life to public service, beginning as an EMT at just 18 years old before joining the NYPD, where he served honorably for 27 years. He patrolled Brooklyn’s toughest neighborhoods before joining the elite Special Operations Division as a pilot in the Aviation Unit, eventually earning the title of detective.

When the Twin Towers fell, Joe rushed to Ground Zero, returning day after day, as did so many others, in the desperate search for survivors and to help rebuild a broken city. His dedication never wavered. But now, Joe is paying the price.

Today, Detective Daigneault is battling Stage 4 cancer—a direct result of the toxic exposure he endured at Ground Zero. He’s not just a hero. He’s a husband and a father of three.

Now Joe needs our help.

A fundraiser has been organized through FundtheFirst to assist Joe and his family with overwhelming medical bills and living expenses. The goal is to raise $100,000—a majority of every dollar goes directly to support Joe in this fight.

We ask you—especially those in law enforcement and first responder communities—to prayerfully consider donating. No amount is too small. Your generosity can help ease the burden on a man who’s always put others first.

Donate now and stand with a hero.
