See It Send It Backs Trump’s Overtime Tax Exemption Plan
A technology company specializing in public safety solutions has expressed support for President Donald Trump’s proposal to eliminate federal income taxes on overtime pay for law enforcement personnel.
The company See It Send It, which offers a mobile application enabling citizens to report suspicious activities directly to law enforcement agencies, believes that the proposed tax exemption would provide significant financial relief to officers who frequently work extended hours.
“Our mission has always been to enhance community safety by fostering better communication between the public and law enforcement,” said See It Send It CEO Dan Kerning. “We believe that supporting those who dedicate extra hours to protect our communities aligns with our core values.”
President Trump’s proposal, part of a broader legislative package dubbed the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” aims to make overtime pay tax-free for workers, including police officers, nurses, and other hourly employees. The initiative has garnered support from various law enforcement groups, who argue it would improve morale and retention within the ranks.
Law enforcement officers and supporters have voiced their approval of the measure, highlighting the potential benefits for seasoned and younger officers.
“The idea that the government takes more out of your extra work, especially for people who are getting shot at… is kind of ridiculous when you really think about it,” stated Kyle Reyes, owner of Law Enforcement Today, while interviewing law enforcement leaders at the White House.
The proposed tax exemption is currently under consideration in Congress, with supporters advocating for its inclusion in the upcoming budget legislation. If enacted, it would significantly shift tax policy, directly impacting the take-home pay of millions of American workers who log overtime hours.
The Trump White House also released a video featuring law enforcement officers discussing how eliminating taxes on overtime pay would impact their lives and families.
“I think that would really benefit those, especially younger cops that have younger kids and a lot of families. I think that would mean a tremendous amount,” one remarked.
“If there was no tax on overtime, we’d be working about as hard as we currently do, but we would have that appreciation that goes along with it,” another added.
Kerning launched See It Send It after being contacted by organizations seeking better tools for employee communication and safety. Drawing on his background as a Naval Flight Officer, Kerning saw the chance to apply his expertise by creating a series of mobile apps designed to enhance situational awareness, tactical coordination, and communication—capabilities originally utilized in the E-2C Hawkeye surveillance aircraft.
“See It Send It’s robust incident reporting enables agencies to capture every overtime event with precise geotagging and timestamped details—creating a clear, auditable record for no-tax-on-overtime policies,” Kerning added about its role in documenting overtime for law enforcement personnel.
“Our secure platform allows officers to attach photos, audio, and notes directly to each incident report, ensuring all supporting evidence is preserved and easily accessed by administrative and oversight teams,” he continued.
The See It Send It platform also offers customizable incident categories that let departments flag overtime-related activities at the point of reporting. Its reporting dashboards provide comprehensive summaries for finance and leadership to demonstrate compliance and transparency.
See It Send It also offers a cutting-edge platform designed to enhance the fight against human trafficking through rapid reporting, inter-agency collaboration, and data-driven insights.
The mobile app enables users to report suspicious activity in real-time, complete with photos, videos, and GPS data, facilitating quicker responses and the disruption of trafficking operations before they escalate. The organization plays an important role in deportation by fostering seamless communication between law enforcement, nonprofits, and local governments, breaking down barriers that often hinder coordinated action.
