New data confirms that President Trump’s tough border security policies have made a real difference, according to the Post Millenial.
In the first three months of the Trump administration, Border Patrol agents apprehended just 225 Chinese nationals at our southern border. That’s a staggering 97 percent drop compared to the more than 8,800 Chinese nationals caught entering illegally during the same period under President Biden.
This dramatic reduction stands in stark contrast to the dangerous surge of Chinese nationals encountered under Biden. Over 60,000 Chinese nationals entered illegally during his four years, with a shocking 38,200 crossing in fiscal year 2024 alone. Many were young, military-aged men — enough to fill more than 176 Army battalions — raising concerns about national security and possible espionage.
Reports show that Chinese nationals typically fly to Ecuador, and then cross the dangerous Darien Gap before paying smugglers to guide them to the United States-Mexico border. Once here, they often slip through the cracks and are able to virtually disappear. Under Biden, the “Remain in Mexico” policy was scrapped while the vetting questions for Chinese nationals were slashed from 40 down to just 5, making it easier for them to gain entry into American communities.
This is more than just a border issue; it’s a serious threat to national security. A recent case in Michigan exposed two Chinese nationals, both funded by the Chinese Communist Party, smuggling a crop-killing fungus into the United States. The fungus, which can devastate key crops like wheat and corn, has been described as a potential agroterrorism weapon. It can also cause severe liver damage and reproductive defects in humans and livestock.
Despite these clear threats, some judges and federal agencies seem more interested in targeting Americans than confronting CCP agents. Such was the case with Timothy Barton, a Texas real estate developer and longtime Trump supporter. Barton exposed suspicious Chinese money-laundering activities to Homeland Security back in 2019. Instead of getting help, Barton says he was crushed by the DOJ, SEC, and a politically driven court system that prioritized foreign interests over American citizens. His assets were seized without a trial, while the Chinese nationals tied to these suspicious deals were allowed to simply walk away without suffering any repercussions whatsoever.
Meanwhile, immigration enforcement under Trump regarding illegal Chinese nationals is showing real results. ICE recently raided an underground nightclub in Los Angeles, arresting 36 Chinese and Taiwanese nationals who were illegally present in the country. These arrests highlight the ongoing need for tough, targeted enforcement to protect American jobs, communities, and livelihoods.
During Trump’s presidency, ICE also deported Chinese nationals convicted of photographing U.S. military bases and spying for foreign governments. Others were sentenced to prison for elaborate identity theft schemes, for involvement in sex trafficking, and various other crimes, both minor and major.
