Viewers noticed the president failing to walk straight after getting off his plane

People think they’ve found the answer to Donald Trump’s unorthodox walk before meeting Vladimir Putin in Alaska on 15 August.

Trump reunited with his Russian counterpart on Friday for peace talks over the war in Ukraine after confirming in the past week that he would table an offer that would be ‘too good’ to refuse.

The US president insisted that ‘very severe consequences’ would be imposed on Russia if the summit didn’t come to a favourable conclusion. And though an agreement wasn’t reached following the meeting, Trump claimed that ‘great progress’ had been made.

In fact, perhaps the most notable thing was Putin suggesting that they meet, ‘next time in Moscow’, which Trump said could ‘possibly’ happen.

Additionally, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that he will be meeting Trump in the White House on Monday (18 August) as the US pushes for a peace deal to be struck.

However it was the period before the leaders’ meeting which seemed to grab the headlines, as viewers spotted a B-2 stealth bomber being flown overheard, while Trump carried out his classic ‘yank’ handshake when greeting Putin.

It marked an eventful meeting between the pair, as those online also spotted something about the American leader that appeared to be rather peculiar.

As the 79-year-old walked down the stairs from his aircraft, he stepped onto a red carpet but bizarrely failed to walk in a straight line.

It prompted one user to ask: “Can any doctors tell me. Why is Trump struggling to walk in a straight line?”

At normal playback speed, you probably wouldn’t notice it, but when sped up, it looks like he’s walking in a ‘zig zag’, whether on purpose or by chance.

While others suggested that this could point towards rising health issues, some believed the answer was far more sinister.

“I’m only half joking here, but if I was almost assassinated twice, I’d probably walk in zig-zags for the rest of my life.”, one user wrote.

Another added: “Thought the same thing. Almost like a reflex at this point.”

While someone else suggested that it may have been done on the recommendation of the Secret Service, a different person asked: “Zig-zag to avoid bullets hitting? Or out of nervousness?”

It’s not the first theory to come from yesterday’s summit, as some believed Putin sent a ‘body double’ to meet Trump while he allegedly ‘hid’ elsewhere.

One social media speculated that ‘his cheeks are rounder’, while claiming that he didn’t walk with his ‘customary low movement right arm’, a KGB tactic to keep your weapon near at all costs.

Yet, body language Inbaal Honigman explained to the Daily Star that this wasn’t the case, saying: “As we observe Vladimir Putin march alongside Donald Trump, the Russian president’s famed ‘gunslinger gait’ is as evident as ever.”

Noting that footage from 2015 may show him moving slightly faster, she said ‘it is the exact same motion’.
