Karoline Leavitt has admitted her 32-year age gap with her husband isn’t typical, but revealed why it works for them.
Nicholas Riccio, 59 is married to the 27-year-old White House Press Secretary and the pair share one child together, one-year-old son Nicholas Robert Riccio. The couple met through a mutual friend after both being invited to an event at a restaurant and a connection was instantly formed.
“I mean it’s a very atypical love story but he’s incredible,” Karoline gushed as she opened up about their marriage. “He’s the father of my child and he’s the best dad I could ever ask for. And he is so supportive, especially during a very chaotic period of life.”
Karoline also revealed she often tells her husband, “I walked into your life and it’s been a circus ever since.” However, she admitted she feels blessed as he’s “fully on board.”

During an appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Karoline further gushed, “He is my greatest supporter, he’s my best friend and he’s my rock. He’s built a very successful business himself so now he’s fully supportive of me building my success in my career.”
She also opened up about how it all started for her and Nicholas. “A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband. I was speaking,” she explained.
The mom-of-one added, “We met and we were acquainted as friends. And then we fell in love.” Karoline recently delighted fans by sharing unseen pictures from her wedding day.
In the snaps, which were shared on Instagram, Karoline could be seen holding her husband’s hand while wearing her glittering white gown. She also posed for pictures with her guests who were all dressed in black.
“I don’t know how you do it. You’re amazing. Intelligence, beauty, new mom, and on fire mentality. No doubt your husband is just as amazing. It takes a team. God Bless!” one person wrote.
Another gushed, “Love seeing wedding photos,” while a third fan said, “The luckiest guy in the world. Congratulations. What a treasure to our country. Thank you.”
